We are pleased to invite you to the screening of the film Gloria! (Italy/Switzerland, 2024, 105 min) directed by Margherita Vicario.
Set in a girls’ boarding school in Venice at the end of the 18th century, Gloria! tells the story of Teresa, a young visionary, who, together with a small group of extraordinary musicians, crosses the centuries and challenges the dusty catafalques of the Ancien Régime by inventing rebellious, light and modern music. This event is part of the film program “NAAS: She Reel – Women in Society: Stories That Inspire, Change That Empowers”, dedicated to showcasing women’s stories and raising awareness about their roles in our lives. The initiative is a collaboration among various cultural institutions in the UAE, including the Goethe-Institut Gulf Region, the embassies of France, Canada, Switzerland, and Austria, as well as the Italian Cultural Institute in Abu Dhabi, with screenings hosted at our venue partner Manarat Al Saadiyat.
