UAQ_Missione

The Italian Archaeological Mission will illustrate the rich heritage of Umm al-Quwain, drawing on five years of collaborative research with the local Department of Tourism and Archaeology. A comprehensive landscape study and extensive surveys have laid the groundwork for investigating sites spanning from 3,000 BC to the Late Antique era, including a monastery on Siniya Island. The presentation will spotlight intriguing connections with the West, particularly Italy, highlighted, for example, by the recent discovery of gold coins imitating Roman prototypes.
