Building on the successful first edition in 2024, the European Film Festival returns to the UAE with an expanded programme celebrating the richness, diversity and creativity of European filmmaking. Organised by the European Union Delegation to the UAE in partnership with the Cultural Foundation in Abu Dhabi and RAK Art under the Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi Foundation for Policy Research, this year’s edition will take place in Abu Dhabi from 18–24 May at the Cultural Foundation and, for the first time, in Ras Al Khaimah from 1–5 June at the RAK Chamber Theater.
Through a carefully curated selection of award-winning films, compelling narratives and emerging voices from across Europe, presented in collaboration with Cineuropa and the EU Member States’ Embassies, Consulates and Cultural Institutes in the UAE, the festival offers audiences a captivating journey through contemporary European cinema and a meaningful cultural exchange through the universal language of film.
As part of a global initiative organised by the European Union in more than 90 countries worldwide, the European Film Festival aims to promote European culture, diversity and shared values through the big screen, while also fostering collaboration and the exchange of expertise with local film industry professionals and students across the UAE.
