The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation supports and promotes study and research missions in Italy and abroad, carried out by Italian and foreign researchers, professors, experts, cultural figures and cultural operators, with the aim of fostering cooperation and joint research programmes between academic and cultural institutions.
Subject of the grant
The following may apply for financial support:
a) researchers, professors, experts, cultural figures and cultural operators, Italian and foreign, residing in Italy for at least two years, invited to foreign university or cultural institutions for study or research purposes;
b) foreign researchers, professors, experts, cultural figures and cultural operators, as well as Italian citizens residing abroad, invited to Italian university or cultural institutions for study or research purposes.
The grant is intended to partially cover travel and accommodation expenses and is provided as a lump-sum contribution as follows:
- up to €250 per day for the first five days of activity;
- €50 per day from the sixth to the tenth day;
for a maximum total amount of €1,500 per mission.
The maximum eligible duration is 10 days. Only the days of actual cultural and/or research activities will be taken into account.
Application and disbursement procedures
Applications, drawn up using the prescribed application form and including all required documentation, must be submitted to the Italian Cultural Institute in Abu Dhabi at the following address: abudhabiiic.segre@esteri.it
Applications will only be accepted if accompanied by an official invitation from a university or cultural institution.
For Italian applicants or those residing in Italy, the invitation must be issued by a foreign institution. For foreign applicants or Italian citizens residing abroad, the invitation must be issued by an Italian institution.
Preference will be given to applications submitted within the framework of bilateral Cultural Cooperation Agreements and Executive Programmes.
For the purpose of disbursement, within ten days from the end of the mission, beneficiaries must submit:
- travel documents (tickets and boarding passes);
- certificate of stay issued by the host institution;
- final report on the activities carried out.
Deadlines
